Therapy to understand your patterns, support healing, and create more freedom in how you live.
My name is Danka Fiedor, and I work with individuals and couples who may be experiencing anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, relationship difficulties, eating concerns, workplace injury, motor vehicle accident-related trauma, or complex emotional patterns.
Many people come to therapy because something in their life no longer feels manageable. You may feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, stuck in old patterns, or tired of trying to hold everything together on your own.
Often, people come to therapy wanting relief, clarity, and a way to feel more like themselves again. When you have carried stress, trauma, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, or emotional pain for a long time, it makes sense that you want things to change.
My approach focuses on understanding what may be happening beneath the surface — the patterns, beliefs, emotional responses, and protective strategies that may have developed for very good reasons, but may no longer be helping you live the life you want now.
I aim to challenge the pattern, not the person.
As a psychologist, I offer a personalised and adaptive approach to therapy.
I tailor therapy to your individual needs, goals, and clinical presentation. Some people come to therapy wanting to process trauma, while others want to understand anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, self-criticism, burnout, or feeling stuck.
My approach is active, collaborative, and practical. I listen carefully, but I also help you make sense of what may be influencing how you feel and respond, including thoughts, emotions, body responses, past experiences, and current life stressors.
The work is paced carefully and adapted to your needs. Depending on your goals, therapy may include processing difficult experiences, building emotional regulation skills, understanding relationship dynamics, strengthening self-awareness, and developing new ways to respond with more clarity and choice.
My modalities and experience
I have been working as a psychologist since 2016 and bring a broad background of clinical experience, training, and professional development into my practice.
I continue to expand my knowledge so I can offer therapy that is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and responsive to each client’s needs.
My work draws on a range of psychological approaches, including EMDR therapy, CBT, DBT, schema-informed therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems-informed parts work, Ego State Therapy, somatic-informed strategies, and nervous system-informed approaches.
I am an EMDRAA Accredited Practitioner and an ANZAED credentialed clinician.
I also value psychoeducation. Part of therapy may involve helping you understand how your mind, body, and nervous system respond to stress, trauma, relationships, and everyday life, so you can begin to recognise your own patterns and use strategies outside the therapy room.
My intention is to support autonomy, not dependency, by helping you develop greater understanding, self-awareness, and practical skills you can take into your life.
